State 10-month faculty members and state 10-month teaching and graduate assistants can expect to see extra health insurance deductions taken to cover the summer months prior to their last payroll check for the academic year.

If you do not return to a benefit eligible position in the fall, your health insurance will end September 11, 2024 at midnight.
Information about enrolling in COBRA, which allows you to continue your coverage beyond this date, will automatically be sent to your home address from the New York State Department of Civil Service, Employee Benefits Division. If you would like to enroll in COBRA, you will have 60 days after the date of notification to return the forms to the Department of Civil Service.
If all summer monies are not collected in your final spring paychecks:
If you have a summer appointment, it is possible your summer payments may have deductions. If this happens, you will receive a credit.
It is important to update your address so that you may receive health benefits correspondence.
