Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt

This course enhances problem-solving abilities and engages candidates in Lean Six Sigma’s industry-tested system for process variation reduction. Candidates are taught how to apply the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) methodology. They receive a comprehensive framework for project management, and learn how to use process mapping, perform data collection, and apply basic statistics and graphical analysis. Certification requires passing an exam and completing a successful Six Sigma project at the candidate’s place of work. 

All projects submissions and resubmissions must be received for final review within 12 months of onboarding. After 12 months an administrative fee will be assessed for any project submission.

Program options:

Program hours and learning formats vary according to the option selected:

  • Traditional: 72 hours of traditional, classroom-based instruction provided at a client-designated site
  • Blended learning: 57 hours* of online education, classroom-based instruction and project review sessions
  • One-on-one: 37 hours of online education and personal mentoring/coaching hour

* Number of hours may be more depending on the size of the group   

Learning Outcomes

  • Manage mid-level improvement projects
  • Assist Black Belts in data collection and analysis for larger, more comprehensive projects
  • Identify and reduce/prevent process variation, waste, quality problems, needless complexities, delays and other performance inhibitors.

Highly motivated individuals serving in a range of positions at any type of organization, from shop-floor employees to executives

Prerequisites

  • Identification of an improvement project before training
  • Strong computer and Microsoft Office skills

Course Timeline

Candidates are expected to take the exam 4 months after beginning the program and submit a project 6 months after the program start.
