Featuring common objects found at various immigrant holiday ceremonies, Ezra Wube creates a bright and ever-changing world full of color and delight. Through mass migration and globalization, the transitory nature of these ceremonies encourage everyday objects—the pop-up tent, folding table, plastic cutlery, and cups—to become icons that are not culturally specific. Through stop-motion and motion-animated segments, Twilight Galaxies combines real and imagined galaxies with specific objects and sounds that often go unnoticed but are now points of reference for possible utopias created through interaction, exchange, and motion.
