Curator's Walkthrough, Anderson Gallery

The inside of a room whose walls, floor, and ceiling are covered in brightly colored textiles of various kinds: a temple to life energies. Large floor-to-ceiling chalk-on-canvas drawings are hung around the space, imitating walls, and creating the sense of a labyrinth. Colorful cushions and small sculptures are everywhere on the floor, inviting visitors to sit or lie down to experience the work. The ceiling and floor also feature drawings of humans and animals engaged in rituals and life-giving celebrations. This is a partial view of Celina Eceiza’s installation entitled La vida terrenal reconquista al soñador which translates as Earthly Life Reconquers the Dreamer in English.
