Duo Axis gave a presentation about their work for UB music students and interested memebers of the public prior to their recital, WOVEN. They discussed their exploration of duo playing, adopting various identities and tasks as performers, occupying shared mental and physical space, and fostering a reciprocally beneficial spirit of innovation.
This event is free and open to the public.
As Duo Axis, flutist Zach Sheets and pianist Wei-Han Wu present vibrant performances that feature traditional classical music and new, experimental works in equal measure. Their well-rounded experiences as chamber musicians, soloists, orchestral players, and arts administrators inform their multi-dimensional art-making and shape their exploration of new dialogues with audiences. They have performed recitals throughout the US, including commissioned projects and concert tours supported by New Music USA, EQ Concerts, the nth degree chamber series, Avaloch Farm Music Institute, and more.
