Career Design Center Welcomes New Director

After concluding a nationwide search, the Career Design Center welcomes Steven Simpson as its new director.
Steven Simpson has been named the new Director of the Career Design Center, effective June 13. Simpson joins the Division of Student Life after eight successful years at the University of Rochester Simon Business School.
Simpson emerged from an impressive pool of qualified candidates following a national search. His extensive experiences both in the industry and higher education support Student Life’s strategic priorities of student engagement and success by expanding our efforts in the employer relations and experiential learning areas.
During his tenure as Executive Director of Career Management & Corporate Engagement at the University of Rochester, Simpson led a team of 13 professionals in developing essential programming and advising services to support students across various graduate business programs. He successfully championed corporate and alumni engagement at Rochester, resulting in elevated brand awareness and consistent employment outcome improvements that contributed to a rise in the university's national ranking.
Simpson's extensive knowledge and experience will help advance UB’s focus on undergraduate career outcomes and experiential learning and make an immediate impact on the graduate and international student populations at UB.
