The Department of Philosophy at the University at Buffalo is home to faculty whose research and teaching span the full range of the discipline, from classic philosophical traditions to applied work in science, technology, ethics and public life.
Faculty are active scholars and engaged teachers who work closely with undergraduate and graduate students through coursework, advising, research and independent study. Mentorship is a central part of the philosophy experience at UB.
