John Beverley.

John Beverley is an Assistant Professor at the State University of New York at Buffalo, Co-Director of the National Center for Ontological Research, and co-lead developer of the Basic Formal Ontology.

His research leverages insights at the intersection of formal logic, ontology engineering, and the semantic web to support AI applications in a variety of domains. John’s research interests include developing virology, large-language model bias, quantum information, and healthy aging ontologies to identify novel research hypotheses for investigation, provide guardrails on LLM outputs in domains where high accuracy is demanded, and support explainable question/response systems with graph technology.
