UB Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership Offers Executive Education Programs

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership in the University at Buffalo School of Management will offer a series of executive education programs beginning in August.

The programs are designed for high-level managers who wish to broaden their knowledge of leading-edge practices and network with other executives from a variety of industries.

Eight different programs will be offered. They are:

o "Valuation of Companies" will cover how to value a business for purchase, sale and transfer purposes. The program will be held Aug. 1, 8 and 15, and again on Oct. 3, 10 and 17 at UB's North (Amherst) Campus. The cost is $269 per person.

o "Six Sigma(tm) How to Increase Profitability" will focus on using a proven methodology to improve customer satisfaction and loyalty, overall competitiveness and bottom line results. The program will be held on Aug. 6, 13, 20 and 27 at UB's North (Amherst) Campus, and again on Oct. 15, 22, 29 and Nov. 5 at the Jacobs Executive Development Center, 672 Delaware Ave. in Buffalo. The cost is $299 per person.

o "Competitive Strategy -- How to Develop Winning Marketing Plans" will provide the opportunity to review an existing marketing plan, identify new opportunities and devise strategies to increase profitability and sales. The program will be held on Aug. 15, 22 and 29, and again on Nov. 12, 19 and Dec. 3 at UB's North (Amherst) Campus. The cost is $269 per person.

o "Effective Executive Presentations" is designed to refine each participant's presentation skills from preparation stages to delivery techniques. It will be held on Sept. 6, 13 and 20 and Oct. 4, 11 and 18, and again on Nov. 6, 13, 20, and 27, and Dec. 4 and 11 at UB's North (Amherst) Campus. The cost is $399 per person.

o "Building a Quality Organization" will help participants identify the core criteria necessary for building a profitable and sustainable organization. It will be held on Sept. 11 and 25 and Oct. 2 and 9, and again on Nov. 6, 13, 20, and 27 at UB's North (Amherst) Campus. The cost is $299 per person.

o "Strategic Planning" will cover eight steps for improving an organization's competitive advantage, including key buying criteria and how to focus on core competencies. It will be held on Sept. 12 and 19 and Oct. 3 and 10, and again on Nov. 14 and 28 and Dec. 5 and 12 at UB's North (Amherst) Campus. The cost is $299 per person.

o "Mergers, Acquisitions and Divestitures" will covers all aspects of mergers and acquisitions, including identifying and valuing targets, negotiating acquisitions and legal, tax and accounting issues. The program will be held in one session only, on Oct. 1, 8, 15 and 22 at the Jacobs Executive Development Center, 672 Delaware Ave. in Buffalo. It qualifies for 12 Continuing Professional Education credits. The cost is $299 per person.

o "Developing and Improving Business Plans" will provide an opportunity to examine different business plan formats and learn what lenders are looking for from business owners. It will be held on Oct. 17 and 24, and again on Dec. 5 and 12 at UB's North (Amherst) Campus. The cost is $199 per person.

A 20 percent discount will be offered to alumni of the CEL Core Program and UB's Family Business Center, and to those who register for more than one program.
