UB Biological Sciences Students Win Awards

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Two students in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Buffalo received awards during the department's graduation ceremony held earlier this month.

Tara Bancroft of West Seneca received the Irving R. Knobloch Endowment Scholarship Award, which provides financial assistance to a select number of students in the biological sciences. The scholarship was endowed by Knobloch, professor emeritus at Michigan State University, who received bachelor's and master's degrees from UB.

Michael Domino of Lancaster received the Christopher White Memorial Award, which is presented to an outstanding senior who will attend graduate school. The award is given in honor of White, who earned bachelor's and master's degrees in biological sciences from UB. White was killed in an automobile accident in 1998.
