Buffalo Police Seek Man in Shooting Incident

Buffalo-area media have reported that police are seeking a Dr. Timothy V. Jorden Jr. as a person of interest in the fatal shooting of a woman this morning, June 13, at the Erie County Medical Center.

According to the Buffalo Police Department, this was not a random act. Police ask anyone who has seen Dr. Jorden to call 911.

Dr. Jorden is a trauma surgeon who provides patient care at ECMC. He has been a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Surgery at the University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences since 2002. His role involves clinical instruction and supervision of medical students and residents at ECMC.

The University at Buffalo community is shocked and saddened by this tragic event. The university expresses its deepest condolences to the family, friends and co-workers of the victim, and to the entire Erie County Medical Center community.
