Proceedings

The Proceedings of EDISON 20 will be published online in the Open Access Journal of Physics: Conference Series (JPCS), which is part of the IOP Conference Series. All papers published in IOP Conference Series are fully citable and, upon publication, will be free to download in perpetuity.

All participants are encouraged to submit a manuscript for the Conference Proceedings. All manuscripts will be peer-reviewed prior to publication.

Submit Manuscript

Manuscripts must be prepared according to the author guidelines. The deadline for submission is Friday, June 23, 2017.

Manuscript length

The number of pages per paper is limited as follows:

  • Invited papers: 6 pages
  • Contributed papers (both oral and poster): 4 pages

Manuscripts exceeding these length restrictions will be returned to the authors.

Preparing your paper

IOP Conference Series uses author-supplied PDFs for all print and online publication. Authors are asked to prepare their manuscripts using Microsoft Word or LaTeX, but manuscripts must be submitted in PDF format. Full instructions on preparing your paper, along with templates and IOP guidelines, can be found on the IOP author guidelines page.

Please note: post-publication changes are not usually permitted unless there are exceptional circumstances. Prior to submission, it is important to ensure that your manuscript is error-free and is in final, publication-ready form. IOP do not copyedit papers and will not send out author proofs prior to publication.

What you need to provide

  • The PDF file of your paper. When preparing your paper ensure that you follow the author guidelines. When preparing your manuscript, please check that:

    • Paper size is A4. (US letter sized manuscripts will be returned to the authors)
    • Margins are 4 cm (top), 2.5 cm (left and right), and 2.7 cm (bottom).
    • The paper includes the author name and affiliation (full address including country).
    • There are no page numbers, no headers, and no footers within the paper.
    • The PDF is free of formatting errors, such as corrupt equations, missing or low-resolution figures. (Conversion from Word to PDF can introduce formatting errors.)
    • Text is single spaced, not double spaced.
    • The PDF file is editable and not password protected or otherwise restricted.
    • All pages are in portrait layout (landscape pages should be rotated).
    • Reference lists are checked for accuracy. References can only be linked via CrossRef if they are correct and complete.
    • Figures are placed within the text, not collected at the end of the document.
    • A careful and thorough proof read is conducted to check standard of English and ensure wording is clear and concise.
    • Your paper includes an abstract.

  • Any multimedia files you wish to publish online:

    • JPCS encourages authors to submit multimedia files to enhance the online versions of published research articles. Please see the IOP author guidelines page for guidelines.

PUBLICATION LICENCE FOR OPEN ACCESS PROCEEDINGS PAPERS

IOP Conference Series operates a publishing licence, under which authors retain copyright of their papers and they no longer need to sign and submit copyright assignment forms. Any author who wishes to publish in IOP Conference Series must agree to the terms of the licence. By submitting a paper for publication, it is assumed all authors of the paper agree, in full, to the terms of the licence.
