Joseph D. Tario is a Senior Project Manager with the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA). Working in their Transportation Research Department, he primarily manages projects focused on transportation demand management and advanced transportation infrastructure.
In addition to his duties at NYSERDA, Mr. Tario also manages a collaborative research program with the New York State Department of Transportation and is a past president and a current director of the Intelligent Transportation Society of New York.
A graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy NY, he holds an M.E. in environmental engineering, a B.S. in civil engineering, and is a licensed professional engineer in the state of New York.

The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) provides funding for innovative transportation research, as well as for transportation product development, demonstration, and deployment. Over the past twenty years, NYSERDA has provided significant transportation funding resulting in many noteworthy accomplishments by a diversity of project teams.
Additionally, NYSERDA manages a collaborative research partnership with the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT), a highly-valued and long-standing partnership that provides $3,000,000 of additional research funding each year.
The presentation will focus on upcoming NYSERDA/NYSDOT transportation research funding opportunities, as well as recent awards and completed projects. Special emphasis will be placed on projects in Western New York and those awarded to university project teams.
