Researchers in UB’s Stephen Still Institute for Sustainable Transportation and Logistics (ISTL) will offer a one-hour Tech Grove Connect Webinar on rapidly emerging transportation technologies related to advanced air mobility (AAM), including technologies often referred to as “flying cars.”
The webinar, which takes place on September 22, features Irina Benedyk, assistant professor in the department of civil, structural and environmental engineering and Kevin Hulme, project manager with ISTL will discuss their project and Best Tutorial Winner at interservice/industry Training Simulation, and Education Conference (I/ITSEC 2021), “Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) – Innovating Modeling and Simulation (M&S) to Revolutionize the Future of Transportation.”
According to the webinar description, “we are at an unprecedented juncture in human history where trillions of dollars are required to transform a transportation infrastructure upon which we remain increasingly reliant… Advanced Modeling and Simulation must be substantially leveraged to design, test and validate such a revolutionary transportation transformation.”
The webinar series is sponsored by the National Training and Simulation Association (NTSA) and Tech Grove from the University of Central Florida. Each month, Tech Grove highlights a Best Paper (or tutorial) nominee from the NTSA-sponsored I/ITSEC. The primary objective of the webinar series is to prove an interactive forum through which to tell the story behind the team, provide highlights from the innovative work, and discuss potential future avenues of research. Previously, ISTL AAM presentation was selected as “Best Tutorial” for I/ITSEC, which will serve as the technical basis for the September webinar.
