Dr. Chen Wang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, University at Buffalo. Previously, he held the position of Project Scientist at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU). He obtained his Ph.D. from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore and B.Eng from the Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT), China. His editorial roles include Associate Editor for The International Journal of Robotics Research (IJRR) and IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters (RA-L). He has contributed as an Area Chair for CVPR'23 and '24 and as an Associate Co-chair for the IEEE RAS TC in Computer & Robot Vision. His research interests include robotic perception, vision, and learning. He is also interested in all aspects of algorithm development, including creating efficient algorithms, proving their theoretical properties, distributing them to open-source communities, and validating them on real-world robots.
