Jerod Dahlgren

Jerod Dahlgren joined University Communications in 2022 and currently serves as UB’s assistant vice president for issues management and organizational communications. A member of the senior leadership team in University Communications, Jerod leads issues management at the university, plays a leadership role on a highly coordinated crisis communications team, helps shape internal communications for new and ongoing university-wide initiatives and oversees an editorial and design team that produces UB’s daily online information source, UBNow. He also provides oversight for UB’s social media team.

Prior to UB, Jerod spent 15 years at SUNY Buffalo State University in progressively responsible roles, including mostly recently serving as director of communications and interim executive director for marketing and communications. Before moving to Western New York in 2007, he worked in athletic communications at Park University, the University of South Dakota and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Jerod holds a master’s degree in public affairs, with a concentration in non-profit management, from Park University and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
