Read the message from Satish K. Tripathi on the changing Federal landscape.

Dear University Community,
I write to you regarding the quickly changing federal landscape. I recognize that you have concerns and questions about the many federal actions and directives that have taken place over the course of the last couple of weeks.
In conversations with many faculty, staff and students across campus, I know that these federal orders and federal directives are creating an environment of uncertainty. And, I understand that uncertainty can be troubling and unsettling. For our students and employees who are experiencing distress because of the uncertain environment, our counselors in student counseling services and in the employee assistance program are here to help. So, please reach out if you need support. I have also attached SUNY Chancellor King’s message to the SUNY community. In this communication, the SUNY Chancellor also provides additional resources for our SUNY community.
I want our university community to know that we are working to gain clarity on these executive orders and agency directives so we can provide additional guidance to our university community. Last weekend, the Office of the Vice President for Research and Economic Development launched a website that includes important research updates and resources for our faculty researchers. Moreover, that office is helping our faculty navigate this landscape by providing individual guidance.
I have said many times, and it is worth repeating here, that all members of our university community are intently focused on bringing the benefits of our research, scholarship, creative activities and educational excellence to local and global communities in ways that positively change the world. It is to this mission that we, as a welcoming, inclusive and global scholarly community, remain deeply committed.
Sincerely,
Satish K. Tripathi
President
