Non-tenure track faculty in qualified ranks at UB play vital roles in support of the university’s mission as clinical, research, and teaching faculty.
To provide important input to the focus and efforts of the Office of Faculty Affairs in supporting faculty engagement, professional development, and faculty success, the vice provost has convened an Advisory Council consisting of non-tenure track faculty representing different schools across UB.
The mission of this council is to advise the Office of the Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs and to give input on all matters that are relevant to the work, satisfaction, and institutional support of UB faculty in qualified ranks. Topics for consultation of the council include departmental integration, mentoring, access to resources, opportunities for development, promotion, and growth, as well as current and future trends in higher education that may specifically or strongly affect non-tenure track faculty. Depending on the issue at hand, the council will offer perspectives, feedback or suggestions that will guide the Office of Faculty Affairs in strategic planning and in discussions with senior and unit leadership on policy, practices, and development of new initiatives.
