Bikash Regmi, a PhD student at University at Buffalo School of Nursing, earned a spot on the Central New York Business Journal’s prestigious 40 Under 40 list for 2024. Regmi is the owner and CEO of Caring Family Health Nurse Practitioners PLLC in North Syracuse, New York, a clinic he opened with his wife, Kumari, in 2023.
In addition to his doctoral studies, Regmi serves as an adjunct faculty member at SUNY Polytechnic Institute, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in nursing and a master’s degree in the family nurse practitioner program. Regmi was also honored with the 2019 Excellency in Healthcare – Heart of Healthcare Award from Bankers Healthcare Group for his volunteer work with the Bhutanese community in Syracuse, including medical interpretation services.
Regmi and Kumari are Nepali Bhutanese refugees who met while volunteering at Catholic Charities in 2012. Their commitment to activism, volunteerism and health care was recognized by the County of Onondaga, which proclaimed September 6, 2024, as Bikash and Kumari's Recognition Day. This marked the one-year anniversary of the opening of their clinic.
