Wang, who is also a student researcher in the Stephen Still Institute for Sustainable Transportation and Logistics (ISTL), presented his research in a poster titled “Understanding Bicyclist Behavior and Perception of Bicycle-to-Everything (B2X) Advanced Warning Messages within Virtual Reality.”

Wang’s research focused primarily on integrating connected and autonomous vehicle (CAV) technologies into transportation networks. His research addresses several concerns, including the dynamic interactions between bicyclists and CAVs, particularly at intersections.

“Ye’s research holds great potential for revolutionizing pedestrian mobility,” according to Kevin Hulme, program manager in ISTL.

Students who participated in the ITS-NY student poster competition showcased their research describing how intelligent transportation systems and related technologies assist transportation professionals in planning, designing, building, operating, maintaining and implementing safe, efficient and environmentally responsible systems and technologies throughout the transportation network.

According to the ITS-NY website, the organization provides education and outreach to foster the understanding of applications and technologies, and forums for member interaction, discussion and professional networking.
