Beginning February 1, 2025, you will no longer be able to use an old version of Zoom when joining and hosting meetings at UB. Update your personal devices today to version 6.0.4 or higher to avoid disruptions.

Update Zoom

To ensure your Zoom app has the best security and all the latest features, Zoom is requiring customers to install the most recent version of the app every three months. You must update the app on your personally-owned devices by February 1st to version 6.0.4 or higher in order to continue using it.

UB-owned devices are automatically updated by departmental IT staff

Run your Zoom update on all devices

Although you may have already updated the application, double check that all of your devices are up to date with the latest update. To check which version you have, follow Zoom’s instructions

Why update?

There are other good reasons to update: using the latest version of software is a best practice that ensures you benefit from the latest security features and enhancements.

Keeping Zoom updated also means you’ll enjoy features like Zoom AI Companion 2.0, Whiteboards, and all-screens mode, which allows meeting participants to share their screens simultaneously.

Zoom AI Companion 2.0 comes with enhanced capabilities to synthesize information and take action, enabling you to focus on work.

If you can't update the app, see UBIT's instructions on how to start or join a restricted Zoom meeting from a web browser.
