Register for Classes

Students should search for and enroll in classes via their HUB Student Center.

Log into MyUB and click on HUB Student Center

1. Select the “Manage Classes” tile.

2. Click the “Select Classes” tab.

3. Select the appropriate term.

4. Enter the class information into the search bar. Enter specific keyword(s) for retrieval of class(es).

For example if searching for PSY 351, the search could include one or more of the following:

  • Course title (Biopsychology).
  • Subject (PSY).
  • Catalog Number (351).
  • Class number (ex: 12345).

5. The search results will display results based on the criteria entered.

Search results can be filtered with criteria in the left-hand navigation. Click on the class for additional information.

6. This screen will display class information such as meeting information and open seats.

Click on the “Class Nbr” hyperlink to find information such as textbooks, pre-requisites or reserve caps.

7. The "Class Information" window will open.

This window defaults to the ‘Class Details’ tab. This tab will indicate the instruction mode. Toggle through the tabs to find any additional class information.

8. The “Meeting Information” tab will provide information about the class meeting patterns.

The class pictured below is an example of an in-person class that meets on campus Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Toggle through the additional tab to find any additional class information.

9. Click on the row of the section to register for. *Do not click on the Class Nbr hyperlink.

10. A new window will open prompting the student to review their selection. Click on “Next.”

11. Review the selections and then click “Submit.”

12. The student will receive a confirmation page that the course has been added to their “Shopping Cart.” Navigate to the “Shopping Cart” tab.

13. Students may select “Validate” to confirm that they meet the enrollment requirements. They may also “Delete” courses from their shopping cart by clicking on the Delete button. To continue with registration, select the class(es) to register for and click on “Enroll.”

14. Students will receive a confirmation page indicating that they have successfully registered for the class.

Registration Using an Automated Process Is Prohibited

An automated process could include, but is not limited to, a bot, a script, or any commercially available automation tool. Using an automated process violates the Student Code of Conduct and the University at Buffalo Computing and Network Use Policy.

Any student utilizing unauthorized automated processes, scripts, or tools may lose the ability to register for courses using the HUB Student Center, be deregistered from classes added via the automated process, and face university disciplinary action.

Additional Charges Will Be Applied for Late Registration

Students are encouraged to register for classes as soon as they are eligible. Additional charges will be applied to a student’s bill if they do not register for courses by the published billing dates.

Textbook Information Available in HUB

In compliance with the Higher Education Opportunity Act, available textbook information is accessible to current and incoming students via Search for Classes within their HUB Student Center (via MyUB). Within the search results, click on the class section to see course details and then click “Textbook/Other Materials.”
