Understanding the importance of grades, classes and credits can help students make progress and achieve their academic goals.

  • Class Schedules

    Class schedules show courses offered by academic departments, including undergraduate courses, courses in graduate/professional schools, continuing education and summer and winter sessions.
  • Grades

  • Calculate GPA

    The grade point average (GPA) at UB is a measure of how well students are succeeding.
  • Academic Standing

    If students do not meet academic standards, they may not earn a degree, or may even be dismissed from the university.
  • Degree Applicable Credit for NYS Aid Programs

    The Office of the Registrar calculates Degree Applicable Credit (DAC), which is used to award degrees and evaluate student eligibility for certain New York State award programs, including the Excelsior Scholarship and the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP).
  • Transfer Credit

    The Office of the Registrar manages transfer coursework and how coursework from post-secondary institutions is applied toward UB major and UB Curriculum/General Education course requirements.
  • Withdrawal from a Combined Degree Program
    1/1/25
    Students who are enrolled in combined degree programs may decide to leave the combined program and pursue the undergraduate degree only.
