For over thirty years, the University Libraries have partnered with the UB School of Architecture & Planning and the Bruner Foundation to create and maintain the Rudy Bruner Award Digital Collection, a repository documenting the history of urban placemaking in the continental United States. The Bruner Awards recognized innovative thinking and excellence in urban design achieved through community collaboration.
Funded by a $5 Million endowment from the Bruner Foundation, the Rudy Bruner Center (RBC) serves as a vital resource for research, scholarship and practice related to creating beautiful, equitable and resilient urban spaces.
Explore the Rudy Bruner Award Collection; a key resource for architecture students, practitioners and community members, providing an opportunity to study transformative urban design projects and their impact on communities over time. The collection provides access to award-winning and fully documented urban design case studies from 1987 to 2015.
The Rudy Bruner Center for Urban Excellence (RBC) is pleased to announce its first Debate on Urban Excellence (DUE) on Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 9am to 5pm. This Debate will focus on challenging, envisioning, co-creating, and educating place.
