Toast to '25

Tuesday, May 6: noon, 3 p.m. or 6 p.m.

We're looking forward to celebrating our graduating students, with a champagne toast in their honor, complete with a special souvenir glass that is theirs to keep as a memento of this festive occasion!

Students who are eligible to participate in our Toast to '25 events will be emailed with a special link to sign up for a seating. Please keep in mind that these events will fill up fast and we are not always able to accommodate standbys on the day of.

Pop-Up Photo Opps

We love seeing our students show off their UB pride and commemorate their time at UB by taking selfies around campus and with our mascot, Victor E. Bull! Follow @UBStudentExp on socials to see when Victor might be making appearances on campus! In the meantime, keep taking selfies around your favorite places on campus and share with us using the hashtag #UBClassOf2025!

Sign-A-Bull

Sign-A-Bull is a UB tradition that invites graduating students to leave their mark by signing a buffalo statue. Students who are graduating in 2025 are able to sign the bull at one of our in-person events or virtually from wherever they are in the world! Just make sure to submit your name only once, as space is limited and each graduate may sign either in person or online - but not both!

Graduating students can visit the Student Engagement office (150 Student Union) Monday through Friday between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. from April 21 to May 9. Once we confirm that you are in the #UBClassOf2025, you'll be able to add your signature to the painted bull - no RSVP needed!

Sign the Bull Virtually

If you can’t make it to campus, use the virtual submission form below to add your signature to the digital bull. This form will be open until 4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 9.

Grad Cap Decorating and Design Contest

Hosted by the Office of Alumni Engagement, participate in the 6th annual graduation cap design contest for a chance to win prizes and a grand prize of a $250 UB Diploma Frame from Church Hill Classics for both Best in Show and Runner-Up winners. Submission deadline is Monday, May 12 at Noon.

Cap Decorating Contest:

Graduating students show off their creativity by decorating their caps for graduation. Join us for a cap decorating party, and submit your own picture of your cap for our contest!

  • Best in Show: It translates to “flying high without forgetting where I’m from” as a homage to my immigrant parents and family for all the sacrifices they faced so I could be a first generation to achieve two degrees. – Rosmery Landaverde Deras
  • BIS Runner-Up: As a first gen American college student, it was always the biggest deal that I was going to graduate college. In Hispanic culture there’s a lot of skepticism of psychology. Quote: “if you can change your mindset, you can change the world”. I plan on changing the lives of immigrant families with my career in psychology. - Angelica Plaskocinski
  • Most Creative: Becoming a social worker has been one of my goals since I started my educational journey here at UB in 2018. I'm proud to share that I will be graduating this May 2024 and displaying one of my favorite movies, Inside Out. - Tiffany Liew
  • Most True Blue: I bedazzled my cap with the UB colors and chose the UB crest as my design! By putting the UB crest on my cap with my own little touch I am able to show my pride for the university that helped me to where I am today! - Taylor
  • Most Humorous: The theme of my cap was The Office, the TV show. I used a variety of material such as glitter, paper, photos, and glues. The original quote is Identity theft is not a joke Jim, millions suffer any year. For a college student, college debt is not a joke- hence my design. - Madison Lucas
  • Most Inspiring: I used gears, glitter, paint, pearls, and gems to decorate this cap. I wanted to add a girly touch to my cap as well as show off how proud I am to be a woman in engineering. - Anna Kane
  • Most Creative Second Place: This cap is inspired by one of the most Influential feminist movie that came out last year. I used to love barbie’s when I was younger and they truly inspired me to dream big, so this is a homage to my younger self… telling her we finally made it to graduation! - Maddie Hammar
  • Most Inspiring Second Place: “Per Aspera Ad Astra” is a Latin phrase that means “through hardships to the stars”. As college students, everyday can be a struggle when it comes to balancing our personal and professional lives, but we’ve continued to push through those hardships and now we’re graduates. I’d say we’re among the stars now! - Amara Fauntleroy
  • Most Humorous 2nd Place: My cap has Patrick from SpongeBob SquarePants at the finish line with my BSW. SpongeBob is running towards the finish line as I graduate with my MSW. His main show quote is "I'm Ready, I'm Ready" and I came up with "To Change the World" as I am going into the social work field to help improve the lives of the others. Taylor Schneeberger
  • Most True Blue Second Place: Each gem on my cap is hand-placed; a labor of love equal to the love I have for UB. With over 20 hours of time put into this cap, wearing a UB blue that shines as I walk the stage means the world. As a Bull for life, it is my honor to wear the UB logo on my cap as I graduate in May. - Emily Henninger
  • Creative Honorable Mention: Darth Vader & the Death Star pave the way for books transformed into spaceships symbolizing my journey through the galaxy of knowledge; showing how important information access & discovery have been (at UB). My cap is a celestial celebration of my mastery of the force of knowledge & an endless universe of information. Kelly K.
  • Most Inspiring Honorable Mention: My favorite movie "Kiki's Delivery Service" is the story of apprentice witch Kiki's growth journey and has always inspired me. Just like Kiki, I embarked on an independent life journey when I left my hometown to study at UB. This journey has given me the courage to face difficulties and setbacks, making me a stronger "witch". Miki W
  • Most Humorous Honorable: My cap references a game I enjoy playing, Among Us, (a detective-type game: find the impostor in the crew). The cap features the character I like to play in the game. There will be many librarians "Among Us" at my graduation, as I'll be graduating with a MS in Information and Library Science! - Ayiana Crabtree
  • True Blue Honorable: Watching the eclipse over north campus with classmates was one of the best memories from my senior year ever. I tried to capture that moment of the sky darkening & moon coming through the clouds in my cap. With an overlook of Lake La Salle & Baird Point in the background.
