Oozefest is one of UB’s most popular traditions and one of the largest mud volleyball tournaments in the United States, held each spring.
Check In: 8:30 a.m.
Tournament Begins: 9:00 a.m.
Location: UB Oozefest Mud Pits (St. Rita’s Lane and Frontier Rd, UB North Campus)
Thank you to all who registered! We will email the captains of registered teams by Thursday, May 1 with more information about game times and court locations.
Oozefest started in 1984 as a way to help students de-stress before exams and bring the UB community together. Today, anyone can play at Oozefest, including students from UB and other schools, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends of UB!
Student Engagement offers two types of ways for students, faculty, staff, and friends to register for Oozefest: teams and free agents. Teams can have a minimum of 6 players and a maximum of 8, while free agents can be single players who would like to join an open team.
Interested in playing? Here's what you can expect for registration.
Want to play but don't have a team? Sign up as a free agent! Student Engagement will match free agents to new teams or teams that are looking for more players to complete their team.
Once Free Agents have been matched to a team, that team will be responsible for working with team members to register to play in Oozefest and pay the registration fee.
All teams MUST pre-register for Oozefest in order to be able to play in the tournament. We do not accept walk-on teams or individuals.
Registration for Free Agents ended at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, April 13.
Registration for Teams ended at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, April 20.
Want to volunteer to help out at Oozefest? Volunteers are a huge part of the success of Oozefest. Without volunteers, Oozefest couldn’t happen! Volunteers are needed to help with set-up, distribute food and water, referee the games, keep score, break down courts, and help the event run smoothly. A heads-up - volunteers will get muddy!
All volunteers must attend one volunteer training – dates, times, and locations will be located on the volunteer registration form.
Oozefest is an all-weather event. Here are a few tips to help you get the most out of Oozefest:
