This partnership aims to enhance global sustainability and resiliency through shared contributions, attract future global leaders, and foster transformative research collaborations across SUNY and UWI. Both institutions will benefit from increased competitiveness for funding, potentially leading to job creation through sustainable development initiatives.

  • NASA taps UB researchers’ team to advance satellite observation of climate change

    Several UB researchers have been sleected by NASA to contribute to a salletite-based mission that will help better our understanding of climate change. This mission - happening sometime between 2030-2032 - will provide essential real-time data in understanding greenhouse gases and changes in ice and glaciers around the world.

  • Showing up for the City of Good Neighbors

    As part of its 90th anniversary celebration, the School of Social Work hit the streets to partake in a day of community service on Buffalo's East Side. In tadnem with the City of Buffalo's Operation Clean Sweep initiative, volunteers provided residents with trash cleanup while also delivering certain resources to residents, including dental supplies, children’s books, cooling towels, seed packets and more.

  • Team says ‘cheeze’ to win UB entrepreneurship competition

    First-year MBA students Matthew Mullens and Neharika Korati have won the 2024 Panasci competition, an inititiative that aims to maximize the entreprenurial spirit of students and create viable businesses in Western New York. The company, Empasta - a plant-based, cheese-alternative sauce - secured $25,000 in capital funding and $40,000 in in-kind services to further develop and expand their product offering.

  • UB chemist studying environmental pollutants receives national awards

    UB chemistry professor Emanuela Gionfriddo has been recognized for her devlopment of measurement science with two national awards. Her work focuses on improving the precision of measurements while at the same time 'greening' her lab - using minimal amounts of toxic chemicals and producing limited laboratory waste, reducing her overall carbont footprint.
