  • UB raises minimum stipends for full-time, fully funded PhD students

    UB will raise minimum stipends to $23,000 and $29,900 for full-time, fully funded PhD students on 10-month and 12-month appointments, respectively, effective fall 2023. These increases will ensure that PhD stipends remain competitive and UB programs are able to recruit the very best PhD students to the university.

    Rosalie Pacula, president of the International Society for Drug Policy, will discuss “The Impact of Policy on Public Health: Evidence from Cannabis Legalization Experiments in the U.S. and Canada” during the 34th annual J. Warren Perry Lectureship in Public Health.

  • UB deepfake expert to present free talk at science museum

    A UB computer scientist who is one of the world’s leading experts on deepfakes will present a free demonstration on how to detect fraudulent videos at noon on Nov. 19 in the auditorium of the Buffalo Museum of Science, 1020 Humboldt Parkway, Buffalo.
