Rhonda Rotterman, program director for the UB Institute of Person-Centered Care in the School of Nursing, has been appointed to the New York State Board of Examiners for Licensed Nursing Home Administrators.
The board has the authority to establish standards for the examination, licensure and registration of nursing home administrators and standards for the issuance, revocation and suspension of nursing home administrator licenses. It is also responsible for the investigation of written charges and complaints filed with the board relating to any nursing home administrator and the assessment of civil penalties or to otherwise discipline nursing home administrators.
Her appointment will last until 2016.

David Gerber, UB Distinguished Professor Emeritus in the Department of History, has been named chair of the nominating committee of the Association for a Buffalo Presidential Center.
The mission of the association is to encourage the study, exploration, interpretation and public awareness of Buffalo and Western New York’s contribution to the presidency and national affairs. While the group’s main focus is on Buffalo’s two presidents—Millard Fillmore and Grover Cleveland—it also is interested in other Western New Yorkers who have been leading participants in national government, the judiciary, policy making and public affairs.

Danielle Vegas Kuroski, assistant director of the Undergraduate Academies, has been named a 2013 “30 under 30” winner by Business First of Buffalo.
A reception will be held next week to honor the 30 individuals under the age of 30 chosen by the business newspaper as “proven performers in their industry and community.”

Dan Ryan, director of off-campus services, has been named to the International Town and Gown Association board of directors, representing the Northeast Region.
The ITGA provides resources to address common issues between colleges and universities and the communities in which they reside, with a goal of improving the quality of life for all residents, students, visitors, faculty and staff in the community.
“ITGA is the leader in exploring best practices for town-gown interactions,” said Ryan. “I am excited to have an opportunity to play a role in the organization.”
As a member of the ITGA board of directors, Ryan will work with the organization’s marketing committee to build membership among universities, colleges and cities worldwide. His appointment is for 2013-15.
