Our Writing Center in 17 Norton provides quality one-to-one support for all members of the UB community including undergraduate and graduate students, faculty and staff, post doctoral fellows and visiting scholars.  

We can help with any type of writing project including course essays, theses and dissertations, application materials, articles for publication and more!  

We provide services in four formats: 

  • In-person in 17 Norton
  • Virtual (via Zoom) - including Sundays!
  • Advanced read and meet (for longer documents) 
  • Written feedback (new service!  Learn more)  

We help in any stage of the writing process from initial brainstorming and planning, research, drafting, revision, to final polish.

Attention graduate students! Spring break writing retreats are coming up! We will offer two mini-retreats on March 17th and 18th. In addition, A Seat at the Table: A Writing Group for Graduate Students of Color will host a weekend retreat from  March 21st through March 23rd. Learn more here.
