UB was a hotbed of activity last week as the university hosted a CNN town meeting with First Lady and U.S. Senate candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton on April 26.

The meeting, "The New York Senate Race: A Late Edition Town Meeting," was moderated by CNN "Late Edition" host and UB alumnus Wolf Blitzer.

A CNN crew descended on the Ellicott Complex on April 24. The Jane Keeler Room became the network's base of operations for three days as crew members-with much help from the UB Office of Conferences and Special Events and the Division of Student Affairs-prepared the Katharine Cornell Theatre for the hour-long broadcast.

Reporters from all three of the New York City daily newspapers attended the meeting, as well as writers from such national news organizations as The Washington Post, The Boston Globe, Reuters and the Associated Press.

Clinton took questions from the audience, which was comprised of registered New York State voters, including UB students, faculty and staff, and members of the Western New York community.

Although the broadcast ended at 11 p.m., Clinton continued to take questions from the audience for another 40 minutes.

Photos were taken by Frank Miller, photographer in the Office of Publications.
