Many entities sponsored students' trip to Cuba

To the Editor:

It was a pleasure to see your generous coverage of the international poetry exchange with Cuba in your article "UB Poets Thrive at Cuban Arts Festival" (Feb. 1, 2001). As the faculty advisor on the trip, I would like to note important information absent from the article about institutional sponsorship for this event.

The trip occurred under the auspices of the Poetics Program, the Department of English, and the College of Arts and Sciences, with the generous cooperation of UB's own Caribbean Studies Program.

Finally, in an article of such a length, it seems neglectful not to mention the other participants who equally contributed to the success, the energy and the vitality of the exchange. These included UB Poetics program participants Chris Alexander, Mike Kelleher, Doug Manson, Jonathan Skinner and Linda Russo; also participating was Buffalo community artist Isabelle Pelissier.
