Exhibits
"UB Grad 2: An Exhibition of Second-Year Graduate Student Art"
Work by second-year graduate students in the Department of Artranging
from video to paint, 2-D to 3-D and the visceral to the conceptualwill
be on display through today in the Art Department Gallery, B45 Center
for the Arts, North Campus. An opening reception will be held from 5-7
p.m. today in the gallery. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday
through Friday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday.
"Reflections in Black: Smithsonian African American Photography,
A History Deconstructed"
The rich legacy of African-American photographers is explored in a
traveling Smithsonian Institution exhibit on display through Dec. 8
in the First Floor Gallery of the UB Art Gallery in the Center for the
Arts, North Campus. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through
Saturday.
"Joseph Norman: Berlin Autumn"
Paintings, drawings and prints by painter Joseph Norman, many completed
during his stay in Berlin from 1998-2000, are on display through Sunday
in the Anderson Gallery, Martha Jackson Place, Buffalo. Gallery hours
are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and from 1-5 p.m. on
Sunday.
"Anatomical Art by Vesalius"
"19th Century Botanical Prints"

Reproductions of the famous "muscle men" series by Andreas Vesalius,
and print-images of plants with medicinal properties are on permanent
display in the Health Sciences Library on the South Campus. Material
for both exhibits was obtained via the Robert L. Brown History of Medicine
Collection in the library. The exhibits, supported by the Friends of
the Health Sciences Library and the Medical Historical Society of Western
New York, may be viewed during normal library hours.

Work by the winners of the Department of Art's 2001 Rumsey Award will
be on display Nov. 27 through Dec. 7 in the Art Department Gallery,
B45 Center for the Arts, North Campus. An opening reception will be
held from 6-8 p.m. Nov. 27. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday,
10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on
Saturday.
