Study sets UB's impact at $1.28
billion The university leverages state funding by more than four times to the benefit of Western New York, with an annual economic impact on the region of more than $1.25 billion, according to a new economic impact study prepared by UB based on methods used nationally to evaluate the economic impact of universities.
The university has entered into a new high-technology partnership with Biopharma Ireland, Ireland's new national institute focused on biopharmaceutical research and development, giving the Buffalo Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics an important international connection.
