in Black: Smithsonian African-American PhotographyA History Deconstructed"
A traveling exhibition of work by noted African-American photographers
will be on display tomorrow through Dec. 7 in the First Floor Gallery
of the UB Art Gallery in the Center for the Arts, North Campus. The opening
reception, featuring live music by Jazz by Macy Favor plus 4, will be
held from 5-7 p.m. tomorrow. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday
through Saturday and Mondays by appointment.
"Desiderio
2101: City of Desire"
Two sets of 20 intaglios and hand-colored intaglios by Bruno Freschi,
dean emeritus of the School of Architecture and Planning, depicting
FreschiÕs vision of the Buffalo waterfront in 2101 are on display through
Saturday in the Second Floor Gallery of the UB Art Gallery in the Center
for the Arts, North Campus. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday
through Saturday and Mondays by appointment.
"Joseph
Norman: Berlin Autumn"
Paintings, drawings and prints by painter Joseph Norman, many completed
during his stay in Berlin from 1998-2000, are on display through Nov.
18 in the Anderson Gallery, Martha Jackson Place, Buffalo. Gallery hours
are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and from 1-5 p.m. on
Sunday.
"Fresh
not Pickled: UB Art Foundations"
Work produced in the "foundations" coursesthe basic art courses that
all art majors take in their freshman year conveys the students at
the most absorbent and wide-eyed point in their academic life. A selection
of work in diverse media reflecting the aspirations of these students
is on display through today in the Art Department Gallery, B45 Center
for the Arts, North Campus. The opening reception will be held from
5-7 p.m. today. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, 10 a.m.
to 8 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday.
