The UBITName Manager is a self-service Web page you use to activate your UBITName, change your password and manage your security questions, non-UB email and cell phone number for password recovery.
1. Enter your UBITName, making sure all letters are lowercase
2. Click Continue
3. Solve the CAPTCHA Security Check
4. Click Continue
5. Enter your three pieces of UB information*:
*Note: If you accidentally log out or disconnect in the middle of the UBITName activation process, contact the UBIT Help Center to get a new One-Time Password so you can try activating again.
6. Click Continue
7. Select Accept the UB Computer and Network Use Policy and click Accept
8. Set your security questions and answers (three from UB and, optionally, one you create) and click Update
9. Select Choose a new password
10. After reading the password requirements, type your new password in the New password field
11. Type your new password again in the Confirm field
12. Click Change Password
13. When you see the UBITName Manager: Home screen, click View profile and update mobile number and personal email address to add or update your password and recovery contact information to be used if you forget your password and enter your non-UB email and cell phone number as instructed. View profile and update mobile number and personal email address
14. Click Add or update your non-UB email address and cell phone number
15 After reading the requirements, type your cell phone number in the cell phone number field, including country code, area code and hyphens, for example 1-716-555-XXXX. The U.S. country code is 1
16. After reading the non-UB email address requirements, type your non-UB email address in the non-UB email address field
17. Click Continue
18. On the Request summary screen, click Submit. Your information will be updated instantly
19. When you reach the Request status screen and see your request has been submitted, your UBITName is activated! You are now ready to enjoy all the great services UB offers
20. To logout, select your UBITName in the top right corner of your screen and click Logout
You can return to the UBITName Manager at any time to change your UBITName password or manage your security questions, non-UB email for password recovery or cell phone number for password recovery.

7. Enter your existing password
8. Click Login
9. On the Home screen, click the Change password link

11. Type your new password again in the Confirm field

13. On the Request summary screen, click Submit. Your information will be updated instantly.
14. When you reach the Request status screen and see your request has been submitted, your password has successfully been reset.
Please note: It may take up to 1 hour for services to synchronize with your new password before access is available.
15. To logout, select your UBITName in the top right corner of your screen and click Logout.

10. Do not use Search. Underneath the Search box, click Add or update your non-UB email address and cell phone number
11. After reading the requirements, type your cell phone number in the cell phone number field, including country code, area code and hyphens, for example 1-716-555-XXXX. The U.S. country code is 1
12. After reading the non-UB email address requirements, type your non-UB email address in the non-UB email address field
13. Click Continue
14. On the Request summary screen, click Submit. Your information will be updated instantly.
15. When you reach the Request status screen and see your request has been submitted, your password recovery information has been updated.
16. To logout, select your UBITName in the top right corner of your screen and click Logout.
When you first activated your UBITName through the UBITName Manager, you had the opportunity to set up four security questions. If you set them up, answer them now to access your UBITName and change your password to something you will remember.

3. Click Continue.
4. Solve the CAPTCHA Security Check.
5. Click Continue.
6. Choose the link labeled: I forgot my password (answer security questions).
7. Answer your security questions. They are NOT case sensitive.
8. Click Continue
9. On the Home screen, click the Change password link.
10. After reading the password requirements, type your new password in the New password field.
11. Type your new password again in the Confirm field.
12. Click Change Password.
If you registered your non-UB email in the UBITName Manager, you can receive a one-time PIN which you can use to change your password.
Carefully read these instructions and follow the steps.

6. Choose the link labeled: Send a password recovery PIN to my non-UB email address
7. You will receive an email to your non-UB email address from <do-not-reply@buffalo.edu> with a Subject of Your temporary PIN
8. On the Verifying email PIN screen, enter the temporary PIN found in the email
9. On the Home screen, click the Change password link
If you registered your cell phone number in the UBITName Manager, you can request a one-time PIN which you can use to change your password.
Carefully read these instructions and follow the steps.

6. Choose the link labeled: Text a password recovery PIN to my phone
7. You will receive a text to your cell phone number from 771-61 UBIDM: To reset your UBITName password, enter the PIN provided
8. On the Verifying mobile/SMS PIN screen, enter the PIN found in the text message
9. On the Home screen, click Change password
10. After reading the password requirements, type your new password in the New password field.
11. Type your new password again in the Confirm field.
12. Click Change password.
13. On the Request summary screen, click Submit. Your information will be updated instantly.
14. When you reach the Request status screen and see your request has been submitted, your password has successfully been reset. Please note: It may take up to 1 hour for services to synchronize with your new password before access is available.
15. To logout, select your UBITName in the top right corner of your screen and click Logout.
If you do not remember the answers to your UBITName Manager security questions, you did not set security questions or need a new One-Time Password, the UBIT Help Center can help.

If you upload your ID, UBIT Help Center staff will contact you at the Non-UB email address and/or telephone number you provide, and give you a new, One-Time Password. You will use this One-Time Password to repeat the process to Activate Your UBITName.
