Kevin Cleary
Clinical Assistant Professor
Faculty Director, MS Management Information Systems
School of Management

Kevin is a model for other faculty in promoting integrity. He highlights the importance of this value with students both in their coursework and their ultimate professions. Kevin’s actions match his words as he confronts violations with an eye on students’ futures. Kevin volunteered the MIS Program to be the first to integrate “Academic Integrity at UB” content into orientation and then provided guidance for other program directors to do the same. He is described as “moving the needle” on behalf of academic integrity across the School of Management and works overtly toward that goal.

Lyndsey Oliver-Farewell Headshot.

Lyndsey Oliver-Farewell
Associate Registrar

Lyndsey has led efforts by the Office of the Registrar to confront egregious integrity offenses such as falsified transcripts and diplomas. She takes the lead on these cases to have educational conversations with students about their actions and the corresponding consequences. Additionally, Lyndsey has established and streamlined procedures for complex administrative matters related to academic dishonesty, including conferral holds, transcript notations, exception registrations, and more. She generously serves as a resource to others across campus as they navigate such matters at the department level.

Carole Rudra
Clinical Assistant Professor
Director, MPH Concentration in Epidemiology
School of Public Health and Health Professions

Carole’s commitment to her profession as a public health practitioner inspires her dedication to ensuring honesty in her students’ work. With careful consideration in her syllabi, course materials, and sanction letters, Carole educates her students about the imperative role of integrity in the learning process. In addition to taking action on suspected infractions, Carole also educates fellow faculty on threats to academic integrity to encourage consistency across coursework, thus making a meaningful difference in the SPHHP.

Derek Strykowski Headshot.

Derek R. Strykowski
Associate Teaching Professor
Department of Music
College of Arts and Sciences

Derek teaches large pathways courses with hundreds of students. This is an important contribution, helping ensure that those future educators are ready to handle integrity concerns and not turn a blind eye to them.
