LaGarrett King, associate professor of social studies education in the Graduate School of Education, addresses a room full of teachers at the 6th annual Teaching Black History Conference, held at Hayes Hall in July 2023. Organized by the UB Center for K–12 Black History and Racial Literacy Education, the conference featured keynote speaker Bavu Blakes, an exhibit from the Traveling Black History Museum, and a focus on celebrating 50 years of hip hop while exploring its connections to culture.
