As leaders in the push for accessibility and inclusivity, it is an expectation of faculty that students be able to access your course materials clearly and with ease. Creating equitable learning spaces creates a positive environment where all students may thrive and be empowered to find success through UB.
Accessibility Resources coordinates reasonable accommodations for equitable access to UB for students with disabilities.
When teaching remotely, accessibility practices and principles must be adhered to, to ensure every student has the opportunity to learn barrier free. This includes creating equitable and inclusive content, creating equitable an inclusive learning environments, and incorporating universal design into your instruction.

As a university community, with our mission as our guide, it is imperative that we explore, understand and respond to racism and systemic inequality. As such, the President’s Advisory Council on Race was formed, and is addressing these issues in order to guide and shape the University at Buffalo's policies, programs, activities and traditions. After several years of research, the council released their findings on how the UB community can harness our university’s education, research and engagement mission to combat racism and dismantle structural barriers to equality.
The President's Advisory Council on Race identified four key focus areas for their university-wide assessment and recommendations: Recruitment, Hiring, and Retention (faculty & staff); Recruitment and Retention (students); Curriculum and Teaching; and Community. The council also released a summary of recommendations, which are helping to guide the university's collective conversations and actions as UB continues to combat inequality and racism and create a culture that thrives on ideals of equity, diversity, inclusion and social justice.
