Accessibility Accommodations

Accessibility accommodations vary based on the ceremony venue. To determine the venue of your ceremony, please visit the Ceremonies & Streaming Page.

Accessible Parking

The Baird B and Slee B Lots are designated as accessible parking for guests with accessible parking hangtags. Those with official parking hangtags may utilize these accessible lots and spaces. The University at Buffalo does not issue these hangtags.

Guests who are unable to walk from the parking lot may be dropped off in the Coventry Loop in front of the building. Parking is not permitted in Coventry Loop.

Venue Entry

Wheelchairs

A limited number of wheelchairs will be available at Guest Services to transport guests from the Coventry Loop entrance to designated seating areas at each venue. These wheelchairs cannot be used by guests to sit in during the ceremony.

Due to anticipated demand, we stronly encourage guests to supply their own wheelchair. This is especially crucial in case of an emergency evacuation.

Tickets and Seating

There is no specific ticket for accessible seating. Each guest will need a standard guest ticket.

Accessible Seating

Specific areas at both venues have been established for accessible seating. Guests requiring accommodation can check in at Guest Services for assistance with finding seats.

To ensure ample seating, guests requiring accommodation may bring ONE companion to sit with them. Both guests must have a ceremony ticket.

Assisted Listening Devices

Assisted Listening Devices (ALDs) are available at each venue. Please visit Guest Services or ask an usher for assistance with locating them.

Captioning

Live captioning will be available for all live-streamed ceremonies. Guests requiring captioning can either sit where the captioning screen is visible or access it on their personal devices. Live captioning links for each venue will be listed here at a later date.

Sign Language Interpreters

For those needing a sign language interpreter, please reach out to the school organizing your ceremony as soon as possible to coordinate services.
