Congratulations to Lourdes Vera

Congratulations to Lourdes Vera, who received a Baldy Center Grant for her project titled “Community-Centered Development of Oil and Gas Industry Report Cards to Promote Corporate Accountability and the Democratization of Data.”

Vera will develop Industry Report Cards with industry reported fracking chemical data from FracFocus and enforcement activity from EPA with public input to offer an in-depth analysis on environmental enforcement and chemical usage across the oil and gas production chain, aiming to improve public understanding and scrutiny of industry practices and enhancing community engagement and advocacy. The expected results include developing digital tools and reports that provide the public with a comprehensive analysis of oil and gas industry's chemical footprint contextualized by the regulatory and data gaps that produce ignorance.
