Nurse assistants (or nurse aides) play an integral role on the healthcare team in long-term care or skilled nursing facilities.
This is a paid training.
The program provides classroom instruction regarding competencies, the administration of basic nursing care to patients in a healthcare facility. The program includes hands-on experience in a clinical setting of the practical responsibilities and duties of a nurse’s assistant. Competencies include handwashing, patient ambulation, positioning patient on bed pan, catheter care, changing an occupied bed, positioning patient in bed, dressing and feeding a patient, providing foot, hair, nail, perineal, mouth and oral care, measuring & recording, pulse, respiration, patient transfer from bed to wheel chair, range of motion both upper and lower extremities, and applying wrist restraints.
