First-Year Students

Here is how to take the first step.

We are glad that you are considering UB and our program for your college education. Please visit the Office of Admissions for an overview of how to apply for admission to UB and be considered for EOP.

Important Steps for EOP Applicants

Answer "Yes" to the EOP question in your application

This ensures you are considered for EOP admission and that your application fee will be waived.

UB is test optional

Students can share their scores as part of their application if they choose. Admission to UB is based on a holistic approach that considers all aspects of a student’s application, both academic and non-academic factors.

Complete the FAFSA

Fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) even if you are not sure that you will be applying to UB. This application opens in December.

Find out if you're financially eligible

If the UB Office of Admissions finds you academically eligible for admission, you will receive instructions on determining your financial eligibility.

Register for Summer Bridge Program

All admitted first-year EOP students must attend the five-week immersion program the summer before they begin college.
