Changing Your Major to Exploratory (Undecided)

Tips before you decide.

  1. This process is for continuing UB students only. New UB students can request to change to exploratory via the Orientation Data Form.
  2. Exploratory is not a degree program. Students need to have an approved major by 60 credits completed to maintain academic progress and timely degree completion.
  3. Dropping or changing your major may impact financial aid eligibility. Students are advised to consult financial aid before dropping or changing their major to exploratory.
  4. Any student can benefit from talking with an EPAC advisor before deciding to change to exploratory. Contact EPAC at 716-645-6013 or exploratory-advising@buffalo.edu.
  5. Students who wish to leave their current major and explore a new major can contact the appropriate advising office directly for further information and assistance.

To change to exploratory, use this Major/Minor Request Form.

An EPAC advisor will likely contact you via UB email for a discussion before making the change. Requests are typically processed within 3-5 business days.
