The Initiative for Maximizing Student Development, Enabling Access to Cutting-Edge Biomedical and Behavioral Science, began at the University at Buffalo in 2012 with support from the NIH. The mission of the IMSD@UB is to prepare students for successful careers in science and promote intellectual and cultural diversity in the biomedical and behavioral sciences at the University at Buffalo. The program is designed to maximize PhD student potential by providing mentoring, financial support, academic enrichment, and professional development.
