 All Students accepted into their PhD program of choice will have the opportunity to apply for admission into the IMSD@UB program. The IMSD@UB program provides funding, mentoring, and professional development for incoming PhD students. Information on how to apply for the 2025-2026 academic year will be available in January 2025.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the IMSD@UB, you must be:

  • An incoming PhD student in one of the participating programs
  • A citizen of the United States or a permanent resident of the US
  • You are eligible to apply after admission to the graduate program of your choice 

Program Highlights

  • Funding for the first 2 to 3 years of your PhD trajectory, including:
    1. $31,000 yearly salary
    2. Tuition remition
    3. Funds for travel to research conferences
  • Get a head start with:
    1. A Summer Laboratory Training Course
    2. A Summer Research Rotation Moving Into the Fall
    3. Professional development workshops
    4. Strategic Training Planning
