Are you ready to begin your studies? There are many tasks that you can complete before arriving in the U.S.
You cannot access your New International Student Check-in, Student Account, and other UB services until you have successfully activated your UBIT Account.
If you're having trouble activating your account please visit buffalo.edu/ubit/help for assistance.
UB has introduced a powerful new tool to help protect your UBITName: Duo Two-Step Verification. Learn how to enable and manage this extra layer of security on your account by "enrolling" one or more personal devices. Visit the UBIT website to learn more and enroll.
Please complete your online International Student Check-in. All items can be completed before arriving in the U.S., except submitting a copy of your I-94 (your Form I-94 will only be available after you enter the U.S.). We encourage you to complete the New International Student Check-in as early as possible.
As part of the online International Student Check-in, you will be asked to upload a copy of your U.S. Visa stamp. Please be aware that ISS must receive a copy of your U.S. Visa stamp before we can remove your IS hold on your student account. All holds on your student account must be addressed before you be able to register for classes.
If you received a Provisional Admission checklist with your I-20/DS-2019, you must prepare the documents to finalize your admission. Please contact International Admissions if you need assistance.
Your Health Background and Immunization Forms must be submitted to and reviewed by Student Health Services before you can register for classes. Please keep in mind that it may take a few weeks for your immunization records to be processed. Please submit early if possible.
Please review the Immunization and Meningitis Requirement web page for more information.
Student Health Services does not send confirmation that they received the forms.
Once your forms have been processed by Student Health Services your immunization hold will be removed.
All international students at UB are required to have health insurance and will be automatically billed for it. You are urged not to purchase health insurance for yourself prior to coming to UB because your insurance may not be accepted by UB.
International students should purchase health insurance for any dependents who come to live with them in Buffalo.
