  • Ph.D. Candidate Lei Lin wins ITS-NY Student Paper Competition

    Lin’s  paper  titled “Android Smartphone Application for Collecting, Sharing and Predicting the Niagara Frontier Border Crossings Waiting Time" has been selected as the winner of the ITS-NY 2014 Best Student ITS Paper Competition.
  • Ph.D. Candidate Shuai Tang Awarded Travel Grants to Present at Industry Conferences

    Shuai Tang, a third year PhD student from the Transportation Systems Programs in the Department of Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering at the University at Buffalo received travel grants from both the NSF-sponsored 2014 Pan-American Advanced Studies Institute on Sustainable Urban Freight Systems (PASI-SUFS) held in Bogota and Cartagena, Colombia from Aug 3 to Aug 17, 2014 and Volvo’s Research and Educational Foundations (VREF) Workshop and Conference in New York from Oct 26 to Oct 30, 2014 where he presented The Geography of Warehousing --Spatial Analysis and Findings of the New York Metropolitan Region
  • NYSDOT, in collaboration with CUBRC and UB’s Dr. Panagiotis Ch. Anastasopoulos, were selected in Round 4 of the SHRP2 Implementation Assistance Program

    The Federal Highway Administration and the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials recently announced that NYSDOT with the collaboration of CUBRC and the University at Buffalo were selected for implementation and technical assistance in Round 4 of the Strategic Highway Research Program (SHRP2) Implementation Assistance Program in the Safety Focus Area: “Concept to Countermeasure – Research to Deployment Using the SHRP2 Safety Databases.”  Dr. Panagiotis Ch. Anastasopoulos, Assistant Professor of UB’s Department of Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering, and Associate Director for ISTL, will serve as UB's principal investigator on this project.
  • Ph.D. Candidate Zhenhua Zhang wins 2016 ITS-NY Student Paper Competition

    Zhenhua Zhang, a PhD student at the University at Buffalo submitted a paper for consideration for the ITS-NY 2016 Best Student ITS Paper Competition. Since this reporting period closed, he has been announced the winner of the competition with his paper entitled “On-site Traffic Accident Detection with Both Social Media and Traffic Data”.
