About the Office of Postdoctoral Scholars

Our mission is to foster an inclusive and supportive environment that empowers postdocs to excel in their research, scholarship, teaching and professional pursuits. Through comprehensive resources, mentorship supports, and community-building initiatives, we aim to equip postdoctoral scholars with the skills, knowledge and networks necessary to thrive in their chosen career paths.

We seek to cultivate a vibrant and inclusive community that promotes collaboration, interdisciplinary exchange and mutual support among postdoctoral scholars. We strive to foster an environment where diversity, equity and inclusion are valued, ensuring that all voices are heard and respected.

We collaborate to provide comprehensive professional development programs, workshops and resources that empower postdocs to enhance their research skills, acquire new competencies and develop their leadership, communication and teaching abilities. We aim to equip postdocs with the necessary tools to navigate the evolving landscape of academia and industry.

We facilitate meaningful mentorship relationships between postdoctoral scholars and experienced faculty members. We encourage and support both formal and informal mentoring connections that promote personal and professional growth, address specific challenges and foster a culture of continuous learning.

We serve as a strong advocate for postdoctoral scholars, addressing their concerns, needs and rights on campus. We strive to ensure fair and equitable treatment, appropriate compensation, benefits and working conditions for postdocs. Moreover, we aim to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments and contributions of postdoctoral scholars to the academic community.
