Internationally recognized as an accomplished researcher and transformative higher education leader, Dr. Satish K. Tripathi was appointed the 15th president of the University at Buffalo on April 18, 2011. UB continues to experience a remarkable era of growth, progress, and innovation under Dr. Tripathi’s leadership as president, ranking 31 among public universities in 2019. UB has set a course for excellence and is poised to rise even further in the ranks of the AAU, situating itself among the Top 25 public research universities in the nation in the next decade.
“I believe that we can cross a new threshold. I believe that, in the next decade, we can situate UB in the Top 25 public research universities in the nation.”
-Satish K. Tripathi, President
At the University at Buffalo, we have amplified our call to combat injustice, oppression and racism in response to the societal strife that has been reverberating across the country. Undergirding all of our efforts is the shared understanding that we can, and we must, effect change through education, research and engagement with the communities we serve.
I am delighted to share that Gov. Kathy Hochul has designated UB a flagship university of the SUNY system. This significant designation underscores UB’s reputation as a premier public research university
